If you and your friend are very close to each other, then one of you can scan the other’s QR code or just compare the 60 digit number. If you had checked it and the QR code is same, then the green checkmark will appear. Hence, they are matching you can be sure that your messages are end-to-end encrypted. If your code does not match then you might be trying code of different contact or a different phone number.
